Khom's Lifetime Search

Khom told us that he had been waiting his entire life to know how to follow Jesus like his parents did.

Khom’s parents died when he was very young, but he knew that they were Christians. He had heard of Jesus and heaven, but had no way to know how to follow Him. After his parents’ death, Khom was raised by Buddhist family members.

We met Khom and started to build a friendship with him at our community center ministry. Because of extreme government restrictions—including a government escort with our family at all times—it was five years before we ever had the opportunity for spiritual conversations.

Eventually, my husband was able to start a weekly Bible study at the community center. Khom attended, and never missed a class. After four months of studying together, Khom decided to follow Jesus just as his parents did. Now he knows that he’ll see his parents in heaven because he believes too!

Since becoming a believer, God has given Khom a gift of believing for healing in his own life and in the lives of others. We prayed for a growth on his ear that totally disappeared, as well as severe back pain that was completely healed. God has increased his faith for healing so much that he even prayed for his son’s Buddhist mother-in-law to be healed from severe stomach problems, and God healed her!
