What is a Bible?

Earlier this year a foreign Christian worker in Myanmar (Burma) told us this story.

A few months ago, God brought Fang and his family into our lives. His daughter Jessica attends school with our daughter. Fang gives us a ride to the international Christian school every day. Even though he is Buddhist, he wants his daughter to attend an English-speaking school, and doesn’t mind that it is Christian. 

The girls’ teacher told the parents we had to send a Bible for our child to have at school. Fang asked us what a Bible was and where to get one. We told him we would get one for his daughter. 

Yesterday we brought Jessica her Bible and she was so excited to have it. On the way home today, Fang said, “I did not know what a Bible was. In my religion we do not have a book like it. I just thought the Bible was a small book.” 

There are still so many who have not heard of Jesus and who have no idea what a Bible is.
