Waa Lu's Path to Jesus

At his friend’s invitation, Waa Lu, a 20-year old Vietnamese university student, came to the Christian-run coffee shop. He met some American university students who were volunteering at the coffee shop for the summer. They were reading their Bibles, a book Waa Lu had never heard of before. He didn’t even recognize the Vietnamese word for “Bible.”

The students explained the Bible was a book of stories about God. Waa Lu was shocked! “There’s more than one story about God?!” Over that summer, Waa Lu regularly came to the coffee shop to spend time with his new friends and hear more about God from the Bible.

At the end of the summer, Waa Lu took his friends on a memorable trip to visit his family’s home in another town. Afterward, Waa Lu decided to become a Christian.

Waa Lu grew in his faith and eventually got a job at the coffee shop where he first heard about the Bible. He was dating a non-Christian young lady, but he knew he should only marry a fellow believer. After some time, he led his girlfriend to the Lord, and they got married. God has blessed their family with a beautiful daughter, and Waa Lu now has his own successful business and continues to live as a committed follower of Christ.
