The Mountain Man's Prayer

“Today, my prayers have been answered.”

At a small church in America while sharing stories about our ministry plans for a remote Asian country, I showed a picture of the rugged mountainous area to which God was leading us. I spoke about the underground church growing in the midst of intense persecution and asked listeners to pray for a powerful move of God there. As I expressed our passion to share the gospel in this unreached place, an elderly Asian man began to weep.

Curious, upon conclusion I went to talk with the emotional grandfather. As his son translated, the man excitedly explained that the photos I had shown were of his home village! The province where God was sending us was the very place he had been born and raised before he was forced to flee war and move his young family to America.

Through tears, he told me that for more than 40 years he had pled with God to send someone to the mountains to share Christ with the family and friends he’d left behind. He desperately wanted them to know Jesus. With deep emotion he told us, “Today my prayers have been answered because you and your family are going!”

Our prayers for the Buddhist world matter! When we intercede for the lost, we join Jesus who is already working to push back the darkness in every never reached place across the globe.

My Asian friend has been working on behalf of his own people from 10,000 miles away. Are you willing to join him in interceding for those who have never heard the gospel? As heaven moves and Jesus goes before us, we will see a tremendous harvest among the never reached in the Buddhist world.
