Life in Full Color / Tammy in Japan

My family had many problems. My father was a Buddhist, so I was a Buddhist too. I went to the temple almost every morning to pray for help for my family, but the situation only got worse. I started studying English so I could travel abroad and get away from my family’s problems. At the English study center, my teacher told me about God. I couldn’t understand much because my English level was so low. But somehow, when he talked about Jesus I could understand, and I had a comforting feeling.

At that time I was wondering why I was even alive. What was my purpose? It felt confusing, like complete darkness inside me. We had a party with our English class, and my teacher talked with me about God, how God is good and faithful. I felt like I couldn’t see anything because of the darkness in me, but the teacher brought the light of Jesus into my life. I went to church with the English teacher and the pastor shared with me how Jesus can save me from my sin. I didn’t understand everything, but my heart understood, and I believed it. So I began attending church regularly.

Since then my life has totally changed. Before, my life was only black and white, but with Jesus my life is in full color. After I became a Christian, I had a desire to serve God more deeply. I did a Bible training and mission program, and now I serve at my local church by leading worship.
