Pin in Taiwan

Pin grew up in a Buddhist family in Tainan, Taiwan. When she was young she had a terrible temper and would often throw things when she got mad. Once she got so angry she grabbed a knife from the kitchen and chased her family with it.

During her college years, she decided she wanted to transfer to another University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, but was afraid she wouldn’t make it in. So she did something crazy—she decided to try praying to the Christian God to see if He could help. She made a deal with Jesus, telling Him that if she got into Kaohsiung University, she would convert and get baptized. A little while later she found out she had been accepted, and true to her word, she went to a Christian church in Tainan and got baptized into the Christian faith.

Pin moved to Kaohsiung shortly after to begin studies, as a brand new Christian knowing little about her new faith. God began to move in her life. Even though Taiwan is less than 5% Christian, Pin discovered her landlord was a Christian, as well as several of her new classmates, who brought her to church. She also met a Christian missionary from America in a campus club, who started discipling her. Pin’s faith grew quickly as she realized how much this Jesus truly cared for her and wanted her to know Him.

Over the next two years at university Pin’s life began to transform. Not only was she learning so much about Jesus, but He was changing her from the inside out. She learned how to control her temper by praying to Jesus whenever something upset her. God also redeemed her damaged relationship with her family and she prays for their salvation regularly. Pin started evangelizing and praying for her classmates too, and led some of them to Christ.

Pin graduated and now works at a company in Kaohsiung, sharing Jesus with her coworkers. Pin knows God wants to use her life and is open to wherever He leads her. In her own words, “He is the best decision I’ve ever made!”
